B. Mus. Ed., L. Dip. (Perf.),
M. Sc. Ed.
In 1971 Owen received a Bachelor
of Music Education and a Licentiate Diploma in Performance
(High Distinction in Percussion) from McGill University
in Montreal and a Masters of Science in Education (Major
in Music) from Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN,
in 1974. His performance instruments include drums, vocals,
percussion and electric bass.
Performances have included radio/television
and recording at CBC (TV and Radio); CTV; CKND, Videon,
albums, jingles, films, documentaries and videos at all
major Winnipeg recording studios. Symphonic experience includes
the CBC Montreal Opera Orchestra, Les Grande Ballets Canadienne,
National Arts Center Orchestra (Ottawa), Fargo-Moorhead
Symphony Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Winnipeg
Ballet, National Ballet, the Manitoba Opera Co. and the
CBC Winnipeg Orchestra.
Commercially, Owen has performed for live
shows of all descriptions, in all musical styles: Classical,
Jazz, Rock, Country, Pop, Latin and musical theatre.
